Gametiime is evolving. We can’t wait to share more…

Tomorrow is a new Day 1…

Firstly, thank you for your support of our journey and being part of the Gametiime Community. Over the past few years, we have created a tool to help thousands of runners of all ages and abilities to explore the world of racing and connect as a community — to go further, be stronger, and commit to being your best.

Our mission to empower a healthier and more active world has always been at the forefront of what we do, and always will be. It’s why do we what we do.

This is a big week for us at Gametiime and we look forward to you joining us. In the next 24 hours (and forward), we will be launching a new brand that we believe better and further allows us to empower you. And, our new featured offering will introduce an innovative, engaging way to connect runners seeking to achieve their impossible.

Worry not, Gametiime features you’ve come to know and love will still be available — including our race finder, groups, profiles, and followership of runners who inspire you.

We can’t wait to tell you more about what’s to come. We’ve shared an incredible journey with you thus far, and we look forward to our next path to #movethemission.

Gametiime wraps up the Pi Day 5K, donating $900 to empower STEM education for girls

As mentioned in our previous post, our very first virtual run, the Pi Day 5K, was a big success! Before the event, we had a guess that our growing running community and other runners around the country would be jazzed up about three things:

  1. The opportunity to run as part of a uniquely-connected online community
  2. Being part of a fun-themed event with an impactful cause
  3. Receiving awesome, exclusive merchandise mailed to their door!

Over 750 runners later, it was clearly true — the Pi Day 5K was a sweet, mathematical hit. Over the weekend of 3/12 to 3/15, runners across all but 5 states (as well as 3 Canadian provinces) submitted hundreds of photos on Instagram, finishing times for their well-earned miles, and received coveted Pi Day 5K swag and prizes.

Gametiime Asks: Why do you race? What makes racing fundamentally different than an everyday run?

Answers from Oiselle Runners

Jessica Morrow – I enjoy running on my own and definitely do most of my weekly mileage by myself. Sometimes on a long run by yourself you can start to doubt yourself and what you are doing. You come up with excuses to do less than your best. I love races, especially really big races with thousands of participants. Running with friends or running a race with a lot of people gives you visual representation that you aren’t the only crazy person out there. Longer distance races like half marathons and marathons are really fun because you know that most everyone there has been putting in same training hours as you. It sort of justifies your own training. Running is such an odd solitary sport that test your physical and mental endurance. Seeing other runners is like, “Yay! We are all doing this alone, together!”

Gametiime empowers 60,000 relationships through Gametiime Groups Beta and selects its next batch of running groups

4924230573490176Since launching our first batch of running groups weeks ago, we have helped running groups across the country to connect digitally and coordinate race meet ups easier than ever before.

For those of you in these running groups, you are showing us the value of social connections and having the ability to discover races based on what your friends are doing to the tune of 60,000 relationships* between fellow group members near and far — and it doesn’t stop there. All the while, you’ve also helped your respective charitable causes, running clubs, and brand sponsors raise awareness by personifying their mission as a healthy, active, and social race participant.

* A relationship is formed when one Gametiime user follows another and opts-in to receive notifications about the races they have saved, photos they have uploaded, and comments they have posted on Gametiime.
